Tropical Storm Isaias near Mexico is forecast to become a hurricane

Tropical Storm Isaias has formed off the coast of eastern Mexico and is expected to strengthen into a hurricane.

Isaias is the first hurricane of the belated Atlantic season and is forecast to hit the US Gulf coast later in the week.

The storm succeeded Tropical Depression Nine.
