Meta claims it acted on 5.3 million child abuse content in India, over 98% found proactively

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, claims to have acted on 5.3 million pieces of child abuse content in India in 2021, with over 98% found proactively.

The company has also introduced additional measures to strengthen its efforts to combat child sexual exploitation on its platforms.
