Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at 75 due to a cardiac arrest, prompting tributes from political leaders and fellow actors.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former defense minister Rajnath Singh were among those who paid respects to the actor, known for his distinctive performances and outspoken personality.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, revealed that Patekar was brought to the hospital unresponsive and could not be revived.

The actor had previously shared that he was offered a 'lousy role of a rapist' in his early career, which he declined.

Sunny Deol, who never worked with Patekar, remembered him as a fearless person and shared a special bond with him.
