August Trade Deficit Surges 77% Year-Over-Year

The U.S. trade deficit surged by 77% year-over-year in August, reaching $73.3 billion.

Exports increased by 17.5% while imports grew by 21.5%.

The deficit is the largest on record for the month of August.
