India news Live Updates, 8 October 2026: Rahul Gandhi and Co. en route Delhi’s Rajghat for Day 3 of EC showdown

Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders are en route to Delhi's Rajghat for the third day of their protest against the Election Commission. They have been demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

The protest comes amidst the ongoing political drama surrounding the Election Commission's decision to not allow Gandhi to campaign in poll-bound states.

The opposition has accused the Election Commission of bias and has demanded a probe into the matter.

The protest is expected to continue throughout the day, with opposition leaders likely to address the media later in the evening.
