Delhi Police crime branch registers FIR to probe those behind July 20 CJP protest violence

The Delhi Police crime branch has registered a First Information Report (FIR) to probe the violence that occurred during a protest organized by the Committee for Justice for Priyanka Reddy (CJP) on July 20. The protesters were marching towards Parliament when they attempted to move towards Parliament and breach police barricades in central Delhi.

Security personnel used tear gas and lathi-charge to disperse the protesters. Several videos circulating on social media purportedly show protesters being beaten by security forces.
