64% of Americans say AI is developing too fast—and 8 in 10 want the government to keep it under human control

According to a new AP-NORC poll, a majority of Americans, 64%, believe that artificial intelligence is developing too fast. The poll also found that 80% of Americans want the government to keep AI under human control.

Americans also expressed concerns about AI's impact on jobs and had little confidence in either political party's ability to manage AI development.
