US deportations to African countries unlawful and exploit suffering, rights group says

Human Rights Watch has accused the US of unlawfully deporting migrants to African countries, exploiting their suffering. Over 500 migrants have been expelled from the US to African countries, according to US data cited by HRW.

The rights group says the deportations violate international law and put the migrants at risk of serious harm.
