US Natural Gas Prices Steady as Storage Build Offsets Hurricane Isaias

US natural gas prices remained steady, with a larger-than-expected storage build offsetting reduced output due to Hurricane Isaias.

The US Energy Information Administration reported a 53 Bcf injection into storage, much higher than the 38 Bcf expected by analysts.

Hurricane Isaias, which made landfall in Florida on Monday, caused a temporary reduction in natural gas production.

Prices for September delivery were down 0.6 cents, or 0.2%, at $2.218 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
