Labour chair of housing committee calls for urgent funds for affordable homes in England

Abena Oppong-Asare, the Labour chair of the Commons housing committee, has urged the chancellor to unlock billions of pounds for social and affordable homes in England.

Housing associations have stated they could build 41,000 homes in the next decade if the funds are made available.
