TSX posts biggest gain in five weeks as rate hike bets recede

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) posted its biggest gain in five weeks as investors' bets on further interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve receded.

The TSX Composite Index rose 2.1% to 19,874.32, its largest single-day increase since mid-June.
