Musk had earlier tweeted that he was 'increasingly concerned about the Indian government's stance on crypto', leading to a backlash from the ruling party.

The BJP's IT cell head, Amit Malviya, responded by saying that India is the world's largest democracy and that Musk should respect its institutions.
