UP Cabinet passes proposal to rename Noida airport as Narendra Modi International Airport

The Union Cabinet of India has approved a proposal to rename the Noida International Airport as Narendra Modi International Airport. The decision comes ahead of the airport's scheduled opening in 2024.

The renaming is part of a larger trend of airports being named after prominent figures, with other examples including the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

The Noida International Airport is expected to significantly boost air connectivity in the region and is a key project under the National Civil Aviation Policy.
