‘Bigger than Emergency’: Band-aid over mouth, Mamata Banerjee detained in Delhi protest
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other opposition leaders were detained during a protest in Delhi, with Mamata Banerjee being held after she attempted to march towards the President's house.
The protest, part of the 'Save India Rally' (SIR) organized by the Congress party, saw leaders from various opposition parties demanding a discussion on the Pegasus spyware issue in Parliament.
Mamata Banerjee, who was later released, described the incident as 'bigger than an emergency', comparing it to the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi in 1975.
