DistroKid has been quietly taking down songs in response to UMG lawsuit
DistroKid, a music distribution service, has been removing songs from its platform without notice, leaving artists frustrated and confused. The company has confirmed to The Verge that these takedowns are in response to a lawsuit filed by Universal Music Group (UMG) in September, which alleges that DistroKid's use of AI in music creation violates copyright laws. However, artists report that even non-AI works are being affected.
