'Misplaced, unwarranted': India slams OHCHR for raising concern over SIR protest

India has criticized the UN's Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for expressing concern over protests by farmers against new agricultural laws, calling it 'misplaced and unwarranted'.

The OHCHR had earlier urged the Indian government to engage in dialogue with the farmers and ensure their right to peaceful assembly.

Meanwhile, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, Meenakashi Lekhi, has accused the OHCHR of being 'biased and one-sided'.
