'Deeply concerning': India condemns attack on vessel carrying Indian crew off Oman coast

India has condemned an attack on a vessel carrying Indian crew off the coast of Oman, describing the incident as 'deeply concerning'.

The attack, which occurred on Wednesday, resulted in the death of one Indian seafarer and injuries to another.

The Indian government has summoned the Iranian charge d'affaires to lodge a protest over the incident, as the vessel was reportedly attacked by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of Indian seafarers in the region and could have broader implications for maritime security.
