'DNA Typewriter' records cells' history in developing mouse embryo

Scientists have developed a 'DNA Typewriter' that reconstructs the family tree of cells in a developing mouse embryo, recording cells' relationships from the first split of the fertilized egg to the formation of the body and organs over 13.5 days.
