Former Irish Olympic swimming coach and child abuser George Gibney jailed for 15 years

Former Irish Olympic swimming coach George Gibney has been sentenced to 15 and a half years in prison for sexually abusing children in the 1970s and 80s.

Gibney, 78, was convicted of 27 counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual exploitation.

The case has been a subject of international attention due to the delay in justice and Gibney's flight to the US.
