Gold has outperformed other asset classes over the past 20 years, according to a FundsIndia report. An investment of ₹1 lakh in gold would have grown to ₹14.6 lakh, compared to ₹8 lakh in Indian equities, ₹4.3 lakh in debt, and ₹4.2 lakh in real estate.
