This treatment may increase survival after lung cancer spreads to the brain

People with small cell lung cancer that had spread to the brain lived longer after focused radiation than after an advanced whole-brain treatment. Median survival was 17.4 months with focused treatment and 8.6 months with whole-brain treatment. The survival difference was encouraging but not the trial's main question.
