Ian McKellen to star in UK premiere of ‘mixed reality’ play – but not in person

Ian McKellen will star in the UK premiere of a ‘mixed reality’ play in Manchester next spring, but he will not be on stage. The Lord of the Rings star is taking part in ‘An Ark’, a play that debuted in New York earlier this year. Audiences in Manchester will be asked to wear smart glasses to experience the play.
