The traditional PC layout might not be the best: unusual GPU placement cuts temperatures by 17°C. An experiment by TrashBench found that placing the GPU at the top of the case, instead of the traditional bottom, significantly improved cooling. The setup used an Asus ROG Strix RTX 3080 with three side-intake fans, a rear exhaust, and a top-mounted 360mm CPU AIO.
