Microsoft plans multi-gigawatt rollout of next-gen Azure Maia AI accelerator racks

Microsoft is planning a large-scale deployment of its next-generation Azure Maia AI accelerator racks, which promise significantly improved performance.

The new racks, featuring a 96-chip configuration, are expected to deliver seven times the token throughput of their predecessors and will be rolled out in 2027.
