Shakhtar hope London move a reminder of Ukraine conflict

Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk is set to play their home games in London this season, aiming to raise awareness about the ongoing conflict in their home country.

The move comes as Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues, with Shakhtar hoping that their presence in the English capital will serve as a reminder of the situation back home.

The club has played its home games in various cities in Western Ukraine since 2014, when the conflict began, but this is the first time they will be based in Europe.

The first game in London is scheduled for September 10 against Real Sociedad in the Champions League.
