Sensex jumps 1100 after finance minister's remarks spark LTCG cut hopes

The Sensex surged by over 1100 points on Tuesday following remarks by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman that sparked hopes of a cut in long-term capital gains tax. The index closed at 59,312.29, its highest level since February 2020.
