States seek urgent funds to sustain women livelihood mission, no word on NULM 2.0 yet

States in India are seeking urgent funds to sustain the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), a scheme aimed at providing skill development training to rural youth, as the scheme is set to expire in March 2023.

The scheme, which was launched in 2014, has trained over 7 million rural youth so far, and its continuation is crucial for the livelihood of many rural women.

However, there is no word yet on the future of the scheme, with the government yet to announce the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) 2.0.
