Ethereum Wallet Exploit Drains $7.8 Million in rsETH Tokens, Security Firms Warn

An Ethereum wallet has lost around 2,900 rsETH tokens worth approximately $7.8 million after an attacker exploited a faulty authorization mechanism in a helper contract. Security firms have warned users about the issue, which is linked to a component trusted by the wallet rather than Safe’s core contracts. A trading bot known as Yoink later front-ran the exploit to buy the stolen tokens at a discounted price.
