Crypto ATM Scams Resulted in $388 Million Losses, CFTC Warns

The CFTC warned US consumers about scammers using crypto ATMs, gift cards, couriers and other hard-to-reverse payment methods. FBI data showed more than 13,400 cryptocurrency kiosk complaints and $388 million in reported losses in 2025, with older adults accounting for a significant share of the cases and losses.
