USDA-funded 2022 trial found cardboard garden beds had 15% weed cover, versus 45% in tilled beds

The USDA-funded 2022 trial found that cardboard garden beds had 15% weed cover, compared to 45% in tilled beds. Weeds can significantly impact crop yield, and this method showed promise in controlling them. Farmers found using cardboard made weeding easier and more efficient after two growing seasons. The results showed varied crop yields when grown in different bed types.
