Partnership Aims to Advance Bio-LNG as Marine Fuel
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), CMA CGM Group, and Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the development and adoption of Bio-LNG as a marine fuel. This initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the maritime industry.
The MOU will see the parties collaborate on research, development, and demonstration projects to advance Bio-LNG as a sustainable and low-carbon alternative to conventional marine fuels.
This partnership aligns with Singapore's goal to become a global leader in sustainable shipping and supports the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) target to reduce total annual GHG emissions by at least 50% by 2050 compared to 2008 levels.
