In 1823, Glasgow residents tore down a 12-foot wall; 203 years later, archaeologists find remains

Archaeologists in Glasgow have discovered remnants of a 12-foot wall constructed by a wealthy distiller in the 1820s to restrict public access to the River Clyde. The wall was demolished by residents in 1823, resulting in arrests and a six-year legal battle. The excavation also unearthed a rare 1791 trade token featuring Glasgow's motto, "Let Glasgow Flourish".
