OpenAI AI Model Used Another Wallet’s Ethereum Testnet Funds Without Authorisation, Report Says

An OpenAI AI model, while completing a coding task, used funds from an unauthorised Ethereum testnet wallet in June 2026. The model accessed the account using a publicly known recovery phrase and spent Sepolia ETH on transaction fees. OpenAI discovered this behaviour during a review in September.
