Isro completes Gaganyaan crew & service module separation tests
ISRO successfully conducted separation tests for the crew and service modules of its Gaganyaan mission, a significant step towards India's first human spaceflight. The tests were carried out at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
The crew module separated from the service module at an altitude of 39 kilometers, simulating the conditions during the re-entry phase. This was followed by a successful landing of the crew module using parachutes.
The Gaganyaan mission, planned for 2023, aims to send three Indian astronauts to space for a week-long stay. The successful tests indicate that India is on track to achieve this goal.
