Global Shipyard Orderbook Up 13%, China Dominates

The global shipyard order book has increased by 13% to 203.2 million Compensated Gross Tonnage (CGT) as of 1 September 2026, according to BIMCO. This is slightly below the all-time high reached in 2008. China continues to dominate the market, accounting for 53% of the order book.
