MoRTH proposes stricter driving licence norms with 75 percent pass mark

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has proposed increasing the pass mark for the learner’s licence test from 60 percent to 75 percent in India.

This change is part of a draft notification amending the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR), 1989, aiming to make the process of obtaining a learner’s licence more stringent.

The proposal also includes the introduction of a safe-driving tutorial as a mandatory part of the learning process.
