'He is aged, can say such things': TMC Mamata faction MP defends Kharge amid 'baap' remark row

TMC MP Mahua Moitra defended party chief Mamata Banerjee's 'baap' remark, saying it was a colloquial expression and not derogatory.

Moitra, a Rajya Sabha MP, said Banerjee's comment was taken out of context and should not be seen as an insult to the President or any other individual.

The remark, made during a rally in West Bengal, has sparked controversy, with the BJP demanding an apology and the Congress calling it 'unbecoming' of a chief minister.

Banerjee, however, has not yet responded to the controversy.
