South Korean shipyard set for offshore wind makeover
Four South Korean companies have signed an agreement to transform part of the Gunsan shipyard into an offshore wind manufacturing hub, with plans to produce large turbines, towers, and offshore substations.
HJ Heavy Industries, J-Ocean Heavy Industries, Myeongun Industrial Development, and turbine manufacturer Unison signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the facility on South Korea's west coast.
The project aims to create jobs and stimulate the local economy, while also contributing to South Korea's renewable energy goals.
