'Industry’s first’ energy construction vessel launches one year after construction start

VARD has launched the energy construction vessel (ECV) it is building for Norway's Wind Energy Construction, a company partly owned by the Norwegian government. The vessel, named 'Vidar Viking', is the first of its kind in the industry and is designed for the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms.

The launch comes one year after the start of construction and marks a significant milestone in Norway's push to develop its offshore wind sector.
