Evalend drops newcastlemax option at Dajin Heavy

Greek shipowner Evalend Shipping has decided not to exercise an option for a fourth 211,000 dwt newcastlemax bulker at China’s Dajin Heavy Industry, removing a potential CNY525m ($78m) vessel from the yard’s order pipeline.

The option under a three-plus-one shipbuilding agreement signed in July has expired, according to Dajin.
