Key Changes and Requirements
1. Certificate Issuance Update
MTIs are advised to update the compliance reference on certificates issued to seafarers.
- Old Reference: STCW Convention and Code as amended in 2010
- New Reference: STCW Convention 1978 as amended
2. Acceptance of Previous Certificates
Certificates issued with the old reference will be accepted until their validity date.
II/4 Compliance with this circular is mandatory for all MTIs.
