Key Changes and Requirements
1. Manning Relaxation
Manning requirements for vessels operating in Andaman & Nicobar region are relaxed for a further period of 6 months, from 16.10.2017 to 14.04.2018.
- Prescribed Manning: As per Safe Manning Document
- Relaxed Manning: One Chief Mate (FG) / Chief Mate (NCV) or one NCV with one year rank experience on similar type of vessel
2. Conditions for Relaxation
- Operating Hours: Only during daylight hours
- Voyage Duration: Not more than 6 hours
- Voyage Area: Limited to regions between Andaman & Nicobar Islands only
Compliance: Owners, operators, and master must ensure navigation, safety, and operational compliance with relevant regulations.
