Effective Date: 1st March, 2017 onwards

Key Changes and Requirements

1. Discontinuation of Separate Courses

The separate courses of Basic Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations (course ID 73) and Basic Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations (course ID 74) will be discontinued.

2. Combined Course and Certificate

A combined course for Basic Training for Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations (course ID 76) will be introduced. Seafarers who have completed both courses from one MTI can approach the same MTI for the combined certificate. Those who have completed the courses from two different MTIs can approach any MTI conducting the combined course for the certificate.

Important Note

MTIs conducting separate courses of Basic Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations (course ID 73) and Basic Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations (course ID 74) must combine them into the new course (ID 76) and submit the course curriculum within 15 days from commencement.
