Key Changes and Requirements
1. Revised Course Curriculum
The revised course curriculum for NWKO (NCV) course has been approved. It introduces new modules and updates existing ones to align with the latest STCW Convention and IMO regulations.
- New Modules: Advanced Firefighting, Crowd Management, and Cybersecurity Awareness
- Updated Modules: ECDIS, Bridge Resource Management, and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
2. Implementation and Compliance
All training providers and seafarers must comply with the revised curriculum from the effective date. Training providers are required to update their training materials and schedules accordingly.
- Deadline: 2025-12-31 for training providers to update their courses
- Compliance: All seafarers must complete the revised course modules before their certificates expire

Non-compliance may result in suspension or cancellation of certificates by the Director General of Shipping.
