Key Changes and Requirements

1. Course Validity and Refresher Training

Existing certificates issued under STCW-1995 for the 'Crowd Management, Passenger Safety, and Safety Training' course remain valid after 01.01.2017, provided the seafarer has served 12 months on-board passenger ships within the last five years.

2. Revised Course Certificate Format

A revised format for the course certificate is introduced to ensure clarity and consistency. Approved training institutes must comply with this format for courses completed after 15.08.16.
