Key Changes and Requirements
1. Sea Service Recognition for ETOs
Sea service of ETOs employed directly by foreign flag ship owners can be considered for examination and certification, but only for service undertaken before 01.11.16.
- Documentation: Original CDC, passport, letter of sea service from the ship owner, declaration-cum-undertaking.
- Verification: Documents must be verified by the Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) concerned. Sea service will be accepted only with the prior and formal approval of the jurisdictional Principal Officer of the MMD.
