Key Changes and Requirements
1. Authenticity of Indian Charts
Check the following for charts published from December 2014 onwards:
- Watermark: National Hydrographic Office Crest and "National Hydrographic Office, India" in pale white
- Agent's Stamp: Mandatory with date, space provided on reverse
- Authorized Agents: List available at www.hydrobharat.nic.in and NHO's fortnightly Notices to Mariners
2. Purchase from Authorized Agents
Purchase Indian nautical charts from authorized agents only.
Report malpractices involving unauthorized duplication to the Chief Hydrographer, National Hydrographic Office, India.
Important Note
Failure to comply with these regulations may result in penalties as per the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
