Key Changes and Requirements
1. Eligibility & Application Timeline
Seafarers with sea service but no qualification were previously eligible to apply for CoC as Cook until 31.03.14. Now, applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
2. Issuance of CoC
CoCs as Cooks will be issued in the revised format stipulated in M.S. Notice No. 07 of 2014 dated 13.05.14.
MLC, 2006 Seafarers must be trained and qualified for their on-board position as per the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
Important Note
All other terms and conditions prescribed in DGS Order No. 7 of 2012 & DGS Order No. 07 of 2013 remain unchanged.
