Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Safety Training
All Indian seafarers must complete the following safety training:
- STCW Basic Safety Training - Deadline: 31st December 2014
- Advanced Fire Fighting - Deadline: 31st December 2014
- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats - Deadline: 31st December 2014
2. Certificate Renewal
Certificates obtained before 1st January 2012 will expire on 31st December 2014. Renewal is mandatory.
II/4 Training providers must be approved by the Director General of Shipping
Important Note
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in suspension or cancellation of certificate.
