Course Curriculum for MEO CLASS I Chief Engineer Officer (NCV) (3000 kW to 8000 kW - except tankers) as per STCW 78 as amended in 2010. (Included in TEAP A -Section III/11 and TEAP B-Appendix III/7)

Applicable to: Marine Engineer Officer - Class I Chief Engineer Officer (NCV) for near coastal voyages (3000 kW to 8000 kW - except tankers)

Effective Date: 16.07.2012

Key Changes and Requirements

1. New Course Curriculum

The 2010 Manila Amendments to the STCW Convention have entered into force. A new course curriculum for MEO Class I Chief Engineer Officer (NCV) has been developed.

2. Training Institutes

Training institutes are expected to follow the new guidelines. They should issue certificates in the prescribed format upon successful course completion.

3. Course Approval

Institutes intending to conduct the course must seek approval. The processing fee is INR 25,000.
